The Franklin Square & Munson Fire Department was able to acquire 2 pieces of World Trade Center Steel in 2011.  They were transported to Franklin Square and held at Fire headquarters.  In 2013 the Town of Hempstead granted the Fire Department permission to construct a permanent monument in Rath Park where the Steel remains today.  Each year on the Anniversary of September 11, 2001 we gather as a community to pay tribute to the sacrifices so many people have made and continue to make.
